About Nick Veneris

Nick Veneris hails from a small town called Gloucester along the east coast of Virginia. After high school he settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where he attended the University of North Florida through 2004 and earned a BS degree in Communications. During college he took a year off and worked full time at a dot com right before the internet bubble of the early 2000s. Upon graduating UNF, Nick took a job in sales support. Unhappy with the position, he touched base with his former employer, and together they launched in August 2006. is a community-driven, instant-publishing platform founded on the principle of sharing revenue with its members. Founded with only $10,000, Xomba received over 10 million page views a month during its height. The website became profitable within a year and eventually employed a staff of five along with interns.

Now at 32, Nick is looking for new opportunities. He is very interested in joining a new project and continuing a successful career in the Internet industry. His hobbies include, listening to rockabilly, playing nerdy boardgames/rpgs/video games, writing fiction, watching horror films, discussing politics and fishing.

The goal of this blog is to share his thoughts and experiences with the world and keep him in the habit of writing on a regular basis.

Nick currently resides in New York City with his wife and their pet snake, Salazar.
